15/04/15 Day 1: Chopped off the top bit of the cabbage to use and put the bottom bit on a plate with a bit of water.
18/04/15 Day 4: Slow progress but still alive.
19/04/15 Day 5: A little bit of roots have developed
23/04/15 Day 9: Changed to a jar of water so as to not to squash the roots. more foliage is visible.
24/04/15 Day 10: Once more roots have grown, I decided to plant it in soil on the kitchen window still and more foliage has grown
29/04/15 Day 15: So excited there is visible new baby leaf growth!
30/04/15 Day 16: The baby leaf is growing.
01/05/15 Day 17: Surprised at how fast the baby leaves are growing
03/05/15 Day 19: Growing still..
04/05/15 Day 20: Growing still..
05/05/15 Day 21: and growing
06/05/15 Day 22: Wow.. very visible growth has taken place
07/05/15 Day 23: baby leaves have been going strong and now there is more baby leaves growing^^ Really excited to see more growth instead of it dying at this stage of the experiment đ Success?
08/05/15 Day 24: Looking very healthy.. Baby leaves are growing bigger and bigger and more baby leaves are emerging.
14/05/15 Day 30: Left it for 6 days and the leaves have grown out of the pot =p
15/05/15 Day 31: BIG day for my little cabbage plant. Going to put it outside in the elements..
18/05/15 Day 34: 3 days later and it seems to not only survived but is thriving.
20/05/15 Day 36: Decided to plant it in the wicking bed
28/05/15 Day 44: 8 Days later and I am amazed at how well it’s grown! The wicking bed is awesome! I don’t have to check on it as often as I did when it was in that tiny pot. Noticed a few cabbage moth eggs so I have been manually squashing them till I can get an exclusion net going.
30/05/15 Day 46: Don’t see any visible growth but seems like it is getting more green.
31/05/15 Day 47: Can’t see any difference from these photos. Most prob there is baby leaves growing at the core.
08/06/15 Day 55: The cabbage plant looks thicker
11/06/15 Day 58: Looks like the leaves are growing bigger
12/06/15 Day 59: a different angle of the cabbage plant^^
15/06/15 Day 62: Growing slowly
16/06/15 Day 63: leaves are getting bigger.. Thinking of harvesting it soon
19/06/15 Day 66: So thus far, the cabbage has re grown from a stump to this beauty which I can harvest and use as and when :)Will keep you updated of when and how I use it đ Okonomiyaki is on my mind now… nom nom nom
So since I last posted, life got too busy to harvest so I decided to let it keep growing..
21/06/15 Day 68: The cabbage plant is growing from strength to strength
23/06/15 day 70: beautiful dew on the leaves and it still growing
23/06/15 day 70: close up of the beautiful dew on the leaves
25/06/15 Day 72: still growing.. can’t wait to harvest!
02/07/15
Day 79: It is looking bulkier
03/07/15 Day 80: Hmm.. i would have to say it’s a successful experiment. I managed to harvest about 100g. I did not have to buy the seeds and hardly had to do much to look after it. Will use an exclusion netting next time so I don’t have to worry about the pesky month eggs which i have been manually removing
03/07/15 Day 80: Hmm.. i would have to say it’s a successful experiment. I managed to harvest about 100g and it looks like a small cabbage when put in a bowl =p
Dinner tonight.. nom nom nom.. What should I make with these precious 100 g of cabbage? Suggestions welcome in the comment section đ

We used to have a second crop like this that the market gardeners used to grow in the U.K they were then sold as Spring Greens a much sought after vegetable. The flavour which was between a Cabbage and Spinach delicious
