Use a bigger pot to begin with so that all the nettles will be contained.

Put it in a bigger pot and pot on medium high heat
Put the pot on a medium-high heat and when the pot is hot, add a little bit of water so it’ll steam the stinging nettles. applying heat to the stinging nettles renders the silicon stingers ineffective aka safe to eat.
