Milky Way with airglow panorama, Dove Lake, Cradle Mountain, Central Highlands, Tasmania | Night Sky Astrophotography | Panorama | Jonace Aussie Travels

Milky Way with airglow, Dove Lake, Cradle Mountain, Central Highlands, Tasmania

I was so excited to be at Cradle Mountains because I knew it was where I could do some astrophotography and perhaps catch the aurora lights.. Alas.. we didn’t get the aurora but we got this spectacular milky way and the green light called airglow.

I love how when you point your camera at a dark sky, it comes alive on your preview screen when you shoot in the right spot 😉 It’s a bit like treasure hunting for the milky way.

It’s so satisfying when you end up with such a beautiful panorama despite how long it takes and how cold it is 😀

Enjoy,
Grace-yi

Orange Fungi, Cradle Mountain, Central Highlands, Tasmania | Nature | Fungi Photography | Jonace Aussie Travels

Orange Fungi, Cradle Mountain, Central Highlands, Tasmania

I got an unexpected phone call from a lovely lady we met on our trip in Tasmania and she was sharing how I needed to come back to get more photos of the fungi. So I thought I’ll share with you what I captured while we were in Tasmania.

I loved looking out for the fungis, it was like going on a treasure hunt. Some were high up, some were low down, some were eye level. All were tricky to photograph though because of the low light.

Enjoy,
Grace-yi

Alexandra Falls and Hopetoun Falls, Liffey Falls, Liffey State Reserve, Tasmania | Nature | Waterfall Photography | Jonace Aussie Travels

Alexandra Falls and Hopetoun Falls, Liffey Falls, Liffey State Reserve, Tasmania

The Liffey Falls are situated upstream of the town of Liffey, in Meander Valley, accessible from Deloraine via the Lake Highway.

The falls commence from the Great Western Tiers at an elevation of 514 metres (1,686 ft) above sea level and descend in the range of 120–160 metres (390–520 ft).

Each of the tiered cascades is named in order from upstream to downstream; Alexandra Falls, Hopetoun Falls, The Leap or Spout Falls (also called the Albert Falls), and Victoria Falls.

Walking tracks lead to the falls from both upstream (tourist carpark), and downstream.

You can see this waterfall early on the trail. If my memory serves me right, it was really easy to get there too!

But if you can’t get there.. Enjoy this photo I captured for you 😉

Enjoy,
Grace-yi

Cloud art, Poatina, Tasmania

I have been fascinated with patterns that clouds makes in the sky. My very 1st business card’s background was actually a photo I took of a wispy cloud. I took a photo of the scene 1 hr before and the clouds looked so different! I’ll share a photo of the clouds 1 hr before another post 😉

I love the diamond shape these cloud created!

Enjoy,
